You can either use the following discussion for your ASL prompt task or develop your own discussion taking ideas from it:
Student A (acting like the Sports Captain): Hey I am just annoyed with my team and vice captain! They want to design the sports uniform.
Student B (acting like a classmate friend): Why do they want to redesign it? The uniform is reasonably good!
Student A: There might be many reasons. Firstly, as the vice-captain has told me the players don’t like the colour of the uniform; second reason is they want to design a logo and some cool, appealing design. They want to make it look trendy!
Student B: If I were the vice-captain or captain I would rather have them pay more attention to the game than designing? That’s the domain of the team manager and sports teacher.
Student A: Well, you have spoken my heart. I also feel the same.
Student B: How will changing the design of the uniform help them in their performance in any manner?
Student A: Well, they feel they would look smarter, and more trendy and stylish!
Student B: Goodness gracious! Do they go to the ground for a fashion show or play? Will redesigning enhance their performance anyhow? Will it make them win the games, eh?
Student A: I don’t think it will enhance their performance in any manner. May be they are just considering the looks part!
Student B: I think the thought of changing the sports uniform is wastage of time and energy. Sports uniforms are usually sober. Their chief purpose is to allow free body movements and protect our skin and sensitive parts.
Student A: I agree with you outright!
Student B: Besides as responsible players, they should be thinking about improving their game further; not just wasting time on trivialities. They have to win the championship next year. So they must be focusing on practice, strategy, and physical and mental training. It is the winning that matters, not the uniform. I hope you agree with me.
Student A: Yes I do. Thanks for your advice and support. Our views are almost the same on the issue.
Student B: Welcome. Now go and tell the other team members to focus more on games and less on style and fashion.
Student A: Sure! They are unnecessarily wasting their time and energies on less important things. Games skills are what we require. I think I will be able to give them quite a convincing lecture on the issue and change their perception. Thanks a lot.

How easy/difficult do you think it would be for you...?
I think convincing them about to focus more on games will be quite easy. As we play for health, fitness, achievements, and winning; not for fashion.
Would you agree that creative freedom...? Why?
We are a democratic country. Everyone has the right to express himself freely. But I will tell them to organize their priorities. Our main goal is performance on the sports field displaying our skills in the sports we play. Designing is not our priority. However, their ideas will be conveyed to the sports teacher. The final decision will be his.
