Since AE is the bisector of angle A

Therefore

∠A = 1/2 ∠A .............................(1)

Since ABCD is a parallelogram.

Therefore AD//BC  and AB intersects them.

==>  ∠A + ∠B = 180 ( Sum of interior angle is 180)

==>  ∠B = 180 - ∠A

In Triangle ABE, we have

∠1 + ∠2 + ∠B = 180

==> 1/2∠A + ∠2 + 180 - ∠A = 180

∠2  - 1/2∠A = 0

∠2 = 1/2∠A .................................(2)

From eq (1) and eq (2)

∠1 = ∠2

In Triangle ABE we have

BE = AB ( Sides opposites to equal angles are equal )

2BE = 2AB (Multiply 2 both sides)

BC = 2AB ( E is the mid point of AB)

AD = 2AB ( BC = AD )

AB = 1/2 AD

(HENCE PROVED)
