Answer:Napthalene is insoluble in water but soluble in benzene (organic solvent). Ammonium chloride is soluble in water but insoluble in benzene. Napthalene changes into vapours at room temperature whereas ammonium chloride changes into vapours on heating.

Method :

(a) Add water to the mixture and shake it vigorously to dissolve ammonium chloride.

(b) Filter the mixture. Napthalene is obtained as residue whereas, filtrate contains ammonium chloride. Crystallize the filtrate by heating till saturated solution of ammonium chloride is obtained.

(c) Cool the hot saturated solution to get crystals of ammonium chloride.

Sublimation
You can use sublimation to separate the mixtures of sodium chloride and ammonium chloride. Sublimation is a process in which a compound which can sublimate that is convert directly into vapour is from solid-state will sublimate when heated. Ammonium chloride is a sublimate but NaCl is not so using sublimation ammonium chloride will convert into vapour form but sodium chloride will remain the same.

The procedure is take a beaker take a funnel and then take a Bunsen burner and then a switch to burn some burner on and then keep the funnel upside down and on the narrow ends of the funnel that is that you put some cork or just cover it up so that ammonium chloride does not escape from there then take the funnel put it upside down on the beaker with the mixture in it in the beaker and then heat the mixture ammonium chloride will sublimate but sodium chloride will remain. Ammonium chloride will be present on the funnel as some salts.
