arrange the tables in a big rectangle shape so that all 22 guests can sit in one large table.

To Find  : smallest number of card tables  needs to arrange

Solution:

arrange the tables in a big rectangle shape so that all 22 guests can sit in one large table.

=> perimeter of large rectangle = 22 unit

perimeter = 2 ( length + breadth) = 22

=> length + breadth = 11

Possible arrangement :

Length    Breadth        Tables required

10                1                 10 x 1 = 10

9                  2                9 x 2 = 18

8                  3                8 x 3  = 24

7                  4                7 x 4 = 28

6                  5                6 x 5 = 30

Minimum 10 tables are required
