First of all, there are many silk available around the world. Silk is a delicate string like substance that comes from small insects called SILK WORMS. In order to gain silk from the insects, they must be killed and their silk winded up tight to make silk that is strong enough to make cloths. This is an expensive process and the silk worms are rare and hard to find.That is why silk cloth are expensive.

This silk takes a long steps process for its prepartion. Hence, this can be a reason for expenisevness of silk cloth.
