b) Beverages in the Emarati Cuisine:

  • Arabic Coffee:  Arabic coffee refers to a version of the brewed coffee of Coffea arabica beans. Arabic coffee is typically grown at a height of 1000 to 2000 meters, and represents about 60-70% of the coffee industry in the world.
  • Arabic tea: Arabic tea is commonly served to guests and business partners at meetings and social events, and has been drunk by Arab people for centuries.
  • Laban: The term laban is used across the Arab World to refer to a food or beverage of fermented milk. Laban is made from fresh, semi-skimmed, cow's milk that is fermented by adding laban cultures. These give taste and structure to the lab. This process is similar to that of our kefir. The fermentation of laban is similar to that of kefir.

Dishes in the Emarati Cuisine:

  • Asida: Asida is a dish made up of a cooked wheat flour lump of dough, sometimes with added butter or honey.
