work done in 10 days = 1 complete work
work done in 1 day=1/10
∴ work done in 8 days = (1/10)*8
= 4/5 of his complete work

Answer:

In 8 days, Udit completes 4/5 th of the total task, which he requires 10 days to complete.

Solution:

Number of days Udit needs to complete his task = 10 days

i.e., in 10 days, Udit does = Whole work = 1

∴ In 1 day, Udit does = \frac {1}{10} th of the work.

∴ In 8 days, Udit does = 8 \times \frac {1}{10} th of the work.

          =  \frac {8}{10}  th of the work.

           = \frac {4}{5} th of the work

Hence, in 8 days Udit completes \frac {4}{5} th of the total task, which he requires 10 days to complete.
