Given : Roy sells his goods 20% cheaper than Steve and 20% dearer than Chris.

To Find : How much percentage is Chris' goods cheaper/dearer than Steve's?

33.33%

50%

 42.85%

 66.66%

Solution:

Let say steve's goods price  =  100S

Roy sells his goods 20% cheaper than Steve

Hence Roy's  goods price  = 100S - (20/100)100S

= 100S - 20S

=80S

Let say Chris good price = 100C

Roy sells his goods  20% dearer than Chris.

=> Roy's  goods price  = 100C+  (20/100)100C  120C

120C = 80S

=> 3C  = 2S

=> S = 3C/2

=> 100S  = 150C

steve's goods price  =  150C

Chris good price = 100C

Chris' goods cheaper/dearer than Steve's good  = 150C - 100C  = 50C

percentage is Chris' goods dearer than Steve's  = (50C/150C) * 100

= 100/3 %

= 33 .33 %
