Q. A rectangular ground is 100 m by 50 m. It has a gravel path 2 m wide all around it inside. Find the area of path and cost of constructing it, if cost per m’ is 20 Rs.

Sol.

Area of Path = Area of whole Ground - Area of Remaining Ground

= (100 × 50) - (96 × 46)

= 5000 - 4416

= 584 m²

Cost of Construction @ Rs. 20 / m²

= 584 × 20

= Rs. 11780
