2. A bus started its journey and reached
different places with a speed of 60 km/hour.
The journey is shown below:
4170 km
B. 3410 km
1290 km
2550 km
F
2160 km
4830 km
E E
D
8140 km
Find the total distance covered by the
bus from A to D.
(ii) Find the total distance covered by the
bus from D to G.
(ii) Find the total distance covered by the
bus, if it starts from A and returns back
to A.
(iv) Can you find the difference of
distances from C to D and D to E?

Answer:

As we know that,

Speed = Distance / Time

1.) Therefore, Time taken by the bus to reach B from A =

Time = Distance / Speed = 4170 km / 60 km/Hr.

Thus, Time = 69.5 Hours.

2.) Now, Time taken by the bus to reach D from C =

Time = 2160 km / 60 km/Hr.

Therefore, Time taken = 36 Hours.

3.) Again, To find Time taken by the Bus to reach G from E ,i.e., here, we have to add the distance b/w E to F and F to G = 4830 + 2550 = 7380 km

Thus, Time taken = 7380 km / 60 km/Hr. = 123 Hours.

4.) To calculate Time taken by the bus to complete the Whole Journey, we have to add the whole distance,i.e.,

4170 km + 3410 km + 2160 km + 8140 km + 4830 km + 2550 km + 1280 km = 26540 km.

Now, time taken to complete the total journey,

= 26540 km / 60 km/Hr. ( As Speed was Same during the complete journey ) = 442.334 Hours
