The Mughal empire was founded in India by Babur after the First Battle of Panipat in 1526, in which he defeated Ibrahim Lodhi, and captured Delhi as his capital. From 1526 to 1857 the Mughal empire has contributed so much to not only India but the entire subcontinent.
