Umesh is five years younger than his sister if the sum of their is 45 find the age of Umesh and his sister

let his sister age be x

then age of umesh will be x-5 as he is 5 years younger.

and sum of their age is 45. so

x+x-5=45

2x-5=45

2x=45+5

2x=50

x=50÷2

x=25

therefore age of sister is x = 25 years

and age of umesh is x-5=25-5=20 years
