The United Nations is an international organization founded in 1945. Its headquarter is in New York City, with  regional offices in Geneva, Vienna, and Nairobi.The United Nations  is an intergovernmental organization  .The organization operates through its six major organs namely the General Assembly, the Security Council, the Economic and Social Council, the Trusteeship Council, the International Court of Justice, and the Secretariat.

There are certain principles on which the United Nation functions such as

1)to maintain international peace and security  and create cordial relations and co operation among nations

2)to keep an eye on any dispute or situation which might lead to international friction and even formulate ways to regulate armaments.

3)to call on Members to apply economic sanctions and to take military action against an aggressor;

4)to recommend to the General Assembly the appointment of the Secretary-General and, together with the Assembly, to elect the Judges of the International Court of Justice
