Iraq had an undemocratic government which was under the control of military government and dictatorial rule of Saddam Hussain. The freedoms of the people were curtailed, their democratic rights were abolished and all political opponents were assassinated or executed.Iraq underwent human violation where ethnic minorities were persecuted. No other political parties could thrive there. The people's mobility were restricted as well.Operation Iraqi freedom was launched by U.S. to put an end to this undemocratic rule and pushing Iraq towards democracy.But the post Saddam Iraq as still not managed to form democracy and is under the threat of dictaorship and political instability.
