The average speed of gaseous molecules is 80 m/s

Explanation:

PV=\frac{mRT}{M}

3atm\times 12.5L=\frac{15g\times R\times T}{M}

M=\frac{15g\times R\times T}{37.5Latm}

The formula for average speed is  :

\nu_{av}=\sqrt{\frac{8RT}{\pi M}}

where,

R = gas constant

T = temperature

M = Molecular Mass

Now putting all the values:

\nu_{av}=\sqrt{\frac{8RT\times 37.5}{\pi \times 15\times 10^{-3}\times R\times T}}

\nu_{av}=\sqrt{\frac{8RT\times 37.5}{3.14 \times 15\times 10^{-3}\timesR\times T}}

\nu_{av}=80m/s
