National Health Services regulates the Blood Transfusion Services . DCGI (Drug Controller General of India) legislated to ensure quality , security , storage , testing and collection of other components of blood like platelets , white blood cells etc.
DCGI was also given the power Central Licence Approving Authority (CLAA) so , they can approve the license of notified drugs , blood and its components , vaccines etc.
