( \sqrt{5}  -  \sqrt{2} )( \sqrt{5}  +  \sqrt{2} ) \\  = ( \sqrt{5} ) {}^{2}  - ( \sqrt{2} ) {}^{2}  \\  = 5 - 2 \\  = 3
