SOLUTION

EVALUATION

a) Here it is given that the stipulated pupil- teacher ratio for primary classes is 30 : 1

Now the number of students in primary classes is 270,

Hence the required number of teachers to maintain the ratio

 \displaystyle \sf{ =  \frac{1}{30} \times 270 }

 \displaystyle \sf{ = 9}

b) Here it is given that the stipulated pupil- teacher ratio for upper primary classes is 35 : 1

Now the number of teachers in upper primary classes is 11

Hence the number of students to maintain the ratio

= 11 × 35

= 385

c) According to the given condition , as the number of students increases the number of teachers will increase to maintain the ratio

So there is direct variation between the number of students and the teachers

d) Here In areas having large numbers of socio-economically disadvantaged students, the teachers are 5 then the number of students will be 150.

So the ratio of student and teacher

= 150 : 5

= 30 : 1

But areas having large numbers

of socio-economically disadvantaged students will aim for a PTR of under 25:1

Hence the pupil-teacher ratio is not maintained
