Total no of students in the class are

$x - 2$

No of tress planted by each student =

$\frac{3 {x }^{2} - 4x - 4}{x - 2}$

we have,

$\frac{3 {x}^{2} -6x + 2x - 4 }{x - 2 \\ }$

$\frac{3x(x - 2) + 2(x - 2)}{(x - 2) \\ }$

$\frac{(3x + 2)(x - 2)}{(x - 2) \\ \\}$
