under very dim light we are able to see object ,but we do not distinguish different colours. why ??​

Answer:

Our eyes have two types of receptors rods and cones. Cones helps us to see and distinguish between colours while rods help us to see only black and white. In presence of a very dim light our rods are activated because of which we only see black and white and we are not able to distinguish between colours.
