Under very dim light we are able to see the objects but cannot distinguish between colours. Why

because when we see at light all light Det deflect on our eye and form black colour hence we cannot distinguish colour

Our eyes have rods and cones, which help us to see the object and distinguish the color. Cones are less sensitive to the light but able to differentiate the color. In dim light only rods are active. So, we are able to see the objects but can not distinguish between colors.
