Civil Disobedience movement(1930-1934) had 2 phases. One before Gandhi-Irwin Pact and second after 2nd RTC. Because of signing of Gandhi Irwin pact, Gandhi agreed to discontinue civil disobedient movement. After that gandhi went on to attend 2nd RTC but returned disappointed.

Gandhi decided to call off the Civil Disobedience Movement in 1931 in the wake of following situation: 1. When Abdul Ghaffar Khan, a devout disciple of Mahatma Gandhi, was arrested in April 1930, angry crowds demonstrated in the streets of Peshawar, facing armored cars and police firing.
