Answer:

Explanation:

Congress leader Mohandas Gandhi and the Khilafat leaders promised to work and fight together for the causes of Khilafat and Swaraj. Seeking to increase pressure on the British, the Khilafatists became a major part of the Non-cooperation movement — a nationwide campaign of mass, peaceful civil disobedience

The first world war ended with defeat of Ottoman turkey and there was a strong rumour that a harsh peace treaty will be imposed upon the ottoman emperor who was spiritual head of the islamic community.

So to oppose these treaty a society was set up in bombay which criticized the british government for doing so.

Gandhiji found this a good way to bring muslims under the umbrella of fight of independence.

Thus the non cooperation movement along with the khilafat movement was launched.
