The Indian State does notinterfere in religious beliefs and practices of individuals and thus keeps away fromreligious affairs of the citizens. But when someone tries to disturb social harmony in the name of religion then the Statehas the right to intervene.

When any person is forced to follow the religion he doesn’t believe.
When due to religious reasons any person is harmed.
It can interfere to omit social evils for social welfare reforms prevailing in society having their origin from religious dealings. "
