From the free body diagram shown in the fig. we can understand that the force acting on the body causing it falling down along the inclined plane is nothing but \sf{mg\sin\theta,} and so the acceleration is \sf{g\sin\theta.}

So,

\longrightarrow\sf{g\sin\theta=4.9}

\longrightarrow\sf{9.8\sin\theta=4.9}

\longrightarrow\sf{\sin\theta=\dfrac{4.9}{9.8}}

\longrightarrow\sf{\sin\theta=\dfrac{1}{2}}

\Longrightarrow\sf{\underline{\underline{\theta=30^{\circ}}}}

Thus the acceleration of the body on a smooth inclined plane surface will be 4.9 m/s² if the angle of inclination is 30°.
