If a reaction takes place and you see the reaction requires energy for the reaction to be started then it is endothermic reaction .For eg- cooking food is an endothermic reaction as we can't cook food without heat energy

Hey dear,
● Endothermic reaction -
- Reaction which require energy absorption to proceed are called endothermic reaction.
- Energy is released during formation of bonds.
- Energy is taken while bond breaking.
- When bonds broken are more than bonds formed, energy is taken in reaction.
- Usually decomposition reactions are endothermic.
Hope this helps you.
