Conditions under which gases can be liquefied

Explanation:

Liquefied gas is a gas which is converted into liquid form by cooling or compressing it. conditions under which gases can be liquefied are as under-

  1. Cooling
  2. compressing or applying pressure.

The particles of gases have space between them so when they are compressed they come together and convert into liquid, but this can done only at specific temperature because compression releases heat so it needs to be cooled, so that conversion becomes possible.

Gases can be liquefied by applying high pressure. As gases are highly compressible, on applying high pressure, the molecules of a gas would come close, inter molecular forces would increase and it will condense into a liquid. By lowering the temperature:Gases can be converted into liquids by simple cooling.
