Hemophilia and color blindness are genetic disorders that are more common in males as compared to females because these are caused by the recessive allele carrying the ability to cause disease. Women are mostly carrier because even if they get diseased allele from mother it can be masked by another allele that is carrying normal trait. A woman can have this disease if both the alleles carry diseased trait i.e. if she is homozygous recessive for the disease. If the father is diseased and mother is either carrier or diseased only then the daughter will have disease (colorblindness or hemophilia).
