In any state of the Indian union the presidential rule can be imposed when certain political situation happens.

In case a ruling party loses its majority then there is no government in the state legislature with majority. If a no confidence motion wins in the legislative house, then too government has lost its hold. If in elections the elected representatives of various parties are such that no single party gets majority, then too no government can be formed. If no proper alliance with a majority , can be formed, then also a crisis results in.

In the above crisis situations depending on the governor's report and the Central government cabinet's decision, the president's rule is imposed.
