under what soil conditions do you think a farmer would treat the soil of his fields with quick lime or slaked lime or chalk?

If the soil is acidic the farmer will treat it with quick lime or slaked lime or chalk. Slaked lime and quick lime are bases(CaO and Ca(OH) 2) so they neutralize the acidity of the soil and make the soil more fertile as crop grows best in neutral soil.

If farmers think that his soil is more acidic than to make the the soil basic he should treats his field with quick lime ( calcium oxide ) or slaked lime(calcium hydroxide) or chalk( calcium carbonate).
