Underline the participle adjectives and circle the participles used as verbs. Few sentences may have more than one
participle adjective. One is done for you.
Example: The overwhelmed mob asked the dancing girl to dance on a song of their request in a cultural programme
which was continuing for 3 hours. [Here asked is not a participle as it is used in its past form.]
1. I watered the plant yesterday because I had been asked to do it.
2. The injured doctors are not treating the patients who have injured them.
3. Why do you look worried?
4. Are you worrying about anything?
5. She is wearing a gold ring.
6. Swimming pool is full of swimmers who will be swimming in a one-hour swimming competition.
7. The man is knocking on the closed door which was closed from inside.
8. The caught thieves are not ready to confess their misdeeds.
9. The running car is competed with by a horse which is running with faster speed.
10. The kitten was playing with the falling leaves.
[Note: Present participle as verb can only be used in Continuous and Perfect Continuous tense in active voice
whereas Past Participle as verb can be used in any tense in passive voice and in Perfect tense only in active voice.]
