Pride goes on horse and return on foot

Pride goes on horseback, but returns on foot is a proverb to show that pride causes a person to lose everything in life.

- Here pride denotes a person who is so occupied by self-respect.

- Goes on horseback denotes the status he had acquired like richness or fame.

- Returns on foot describes that the person loses everything he has gained.

- Thus it explains that a person who is full of pride will lose all his treasures in life and will become empty if he is not humble and simple.

- It is similar to the proverb pride goes before a fall.
