Contrary to popular belief, Secularism is a concept which believes that a democratic government should have a set of rules and laws that are not governed by any specific religion or religious laws and instead by parliamentarians and their voting.

Secularism is not against any religion, it calls for freedom of religion but makes sure that government laws are not based off religion. This is usually known as the 'separation of Church and State'

Some examples of secular countries include the United Kingdom, India, France etc
