'Chivvy' is a short poem by Michael Rosen which is focussed on the unreasonable behavior and comments given by adults for the children. Children are advised and instructed to do every little thing as per what the adults say, like pull your socks up, don't drag your feet, don't speak when your mouth is full and things like that. In the concluding lines, there is a question which seems a mismatch with the rest of the poem, i.e. 'Can you make your mind up about anything?' It seems ridiculous as in the first place children are interfered in all aspects of life and then they are expected to take their own decisions.

The poem of chivvy has been composed by 'Michael Rosen' poem deals with the feelings of poet like other small kids who feel irritated by the elders who always instructed them to do or not to do.The growns -ups always say thinks like 'speak up'; 'don't stare'; 'don't up'; 'don't pickyour nose';' sit up";'say please'; 'less noise'; etc....The poet leaves a questions for elder why can't they keep their suggestions to themselves...
