Plants makes their own food by using energy of sun light and this process is called as photosynthesis.
A special structure present in plant leaves are chlorophyll which trap energy of sun light as a photon, when this energy reaches to reaction center there is flow of electrons and series of reaction takes place.
At the end plant release oxygen and simple sugar which is glucose. This simple sugar is used by plant parts as a food.
