Technically, if a body moves and is found in it's original position there is no resultant displacement, i.e. out and back or a complete revolution. Consider the physics problem:

A man picks up a 20kg sack of sand to a 1 m height and puts it down again. Let's assume he does this 100 times. How much work has he done?

Answer: 0, because each time he puts the bag down, he is unworking the exact same amount of work he had just done lifting it, or you could call negative work. Yes he is tired but he has not done any work.

So, the same is true for movement. For the out and back situation, we call the return trip negative motion. In the circulation situation, each “moment” on the path has both a positive and negative component and when the body has returned to the starting point, the aggregate of eachmoment” adds up to zero.
