Uniform beam of weight 100N is 3m long and is supported on a pivot situated 1m from one end.
When a load of weight w is hung from that end. The beam is in equilibrium, what is value of w?

a. 25N
b. 5ON
c. 75N

☆ note before solving:-

  1. beam is balanced at that point where the net torque is balanced...
  2. means the clockwise torque is balanced with anticlockwise torque
  3. torque=rF(r is the perpendicular distance from the center where force is applied)
  4. always visualise and draw diagram before solving..
