Uniform electric field E for negative X axis is given as

-100i N/C, A cylinder of length 30cm has its axis along X

axis with its centre at ( 0,0,0) radius of the cylinder is 10

cm find flux through each face, curved face, curved

surface as well as net flux through cylinder also find the

charge in the cylinder?

E=4×103i^(CN)Flux=E.S=EScosθ           S is the area through which electric field lines crosses

When plane is parallel to Y-Z plane then  θ=0      here S = a X a = a^2         a= 5cm

Flux =ES=4×103×(5×10−2)2=4×103×25×10−4=10

when plane makes angle 30 degree with X axis then perpendicular to plane makes angle 60 degree to X axis

hence

θ=600Flux=ES=4×103×(5×10−2)2×cos600

so hope it helps you
