We know that Velocity,(v)=\frac{x}{t} =cms^{-1}

          t=time(sec)

Now Acceleration(a)=\frac{dv}{dt}=cms^{-2}

We know  Force , F=ma

⇒  F=(g)(cms^{-2})=gcms^{-2}

Put the unit of force in eq.(1):

Energy=(gcms^{-2})(cm)\\Energy=gcm^{2}sec^{-2}

Therefore the unit of energy  will be gcm^{2}sec^{-2}.
