Given:

Universal Express travelling at 200 kmph overtakes a motorbike travelling at 68 kmph in 80 seconds.

To find:

The length of Universal express.

Solution:

The speed of the Universal Express,

s₁ = 200 km/hr = 200 \times \frac{5}{18} \:m/s = 55.56\:m/s

The speed of the motorbike, s₂ = 68 km/hr = 68 \times \frac{5}{18} \:m/s = 18.89\:m/s

∴ Relative speed = s₁ - s₂ = 55.56 - 18.89 = 36.67 m/s

The time taken to overtake, t = 80 seconds

Let "L" meters represents the length of the Universal Express.

We know,

\boxed{\bold{Relative \:speed \times Time = Distance \:covered = Length \:of\: the\: train }}

Now, by using the above formula, we get

The length of the Universal Express is,

= L

= (s₁ - s₂)t

= 36.67\: m/s \:\times 80 \:seconds

= \bold{2933.6\: m}

Thus, the length of Universal express is → 2933.6 m.
