Universal law of gravitation states that every object in the universe attracts every other object with a force called gravitational force which is directly proportional to the product of masses and inversely proportional to the square of distance between them.

Statement.
" Every other object in the universe attracts every other object along the line of the center of the two of the two objects , that is directly proportional to product of their masses and inversely proportional to the product of square of distance of seperation between them.
Explaination + Derivation
Let m1 and m2 be the two masses..
We know that, F ∝ m1 m2
also F ∝ 1/r²
So we get,
F ∝ m1m2 /r²
Now this proportionality sign is replaced by introducing a gravitational constant,
F = Gm1m2/r²
Note
Points :
Value of G is 6.673×10-11 Nm² kg-²
G stands for gravitational constant..
This law is termed as an universal law as it is applicable to all the masses present in the universe !
