Unpaired electrons in mn 2+

5 unpaired electrons because electronic configuration of Mn is {Ar}3d5 4s2 and when we have to remove 2 electrons then they must be removed from the outermost shell I.e 4s that's why the final electronic configuration becomes {Ar}3d5 where 3d subshell is half filled therefore 5 unpaired electrons.
Thanks
