The texture of shoe is not so smooth after all. But using polish we can fill up the small gaps on the surface just to make sure the surface is smooth. As we know smooth surfaces reflects light well. So polished shoes because of its smooth appearances appear bright . While unpolished shoes because of its rough surface appears dull.
