ethane + bromine solution + CCl4---- the brown color remains brown
ethene + bromine solution + CCl4---- the brown color is discharged
TEST 2
dil KMnO4 + ethane--- purple color remains purple
dil KMnO4 + ethane--- purple color decolorises or turns green
