Once a king was always afraid of being ill. He shut all the doors and windows of his palace tight in the cold weather and never went out. Yet with all his care he was always ill. One day he said to his minister, “I wonder, why am I so sick ? Can you explain this to me?” :; : The minister said, “It is better to take no care than to be over-careful.” One day the king met a shepherd who was very poor. He was wearing very few clothes. He had no shoes. The king said to him, “Do you never suffer from cold or fever ? Do you stay out all; night?”
