India's constitution banned the practice of untouchability - in which members of India's higher castes will not touch anything that has come in physical contact with the Dalits, the lowest caste.

I would say that untouchability is not as dominant now as it was in earlier times in India

India's Dalits still fighting untouchability. Dalits are at the bottom of the Hindu caste system and despite laws to protect them, they still face widespread discrimination in India, writes Natalia Antelava.

this is not caste discrimination....

nor there is a discrimination in India..

this is indian media who is main reason behind all this talks....

we are human and going better and better is our nature.. but some people have some wrong concept... they this growing is all about pushing others down... .

and this type of people may exist in any caste.... so your question was not of any value... it was just an illusion created by the media... and your surroundings

azemil09lancy: indian constitution is providing safeguards against it.but dalits are still considered as inferior in most parts of india.untouchability is not very intense these days.but still it is there in a less intensive manner.
