upper and lower surface of some leaves in a potted plant are covered with vaseline.It is observed that these leaves becomes yellow ad fall off after some days .Why does this happen

it is so because as it is covered with Vaseline no transpiration takes place and therefore no diffusion and osmosis could take place.
