Urban settlements are comparatively denser than the rural settlements. Why is it so? Can we ease the pressure on the urban areas? Give suggestions.

People living in urban areas are constantly exerting intense pressure on urban amenities that is leading to exploitation and depletion of resources.

Lot of people have come from rural areas to urban areas in search or work and it has increased the density of population in cities.

Living in urban areas are expensive because of high prices and inflation and people prefer to live as they can afford. Affordance level is relatively low in India and everybody is not able to buy a big house.

It can be minimised through various measures...

Proper employment structures and jobs should be created in rural areas so that people stop migrating to cities and exert pressure.

Resource planning should be undertaken and the use of resources should be determined properly for controlled usage.

Exploitation of resources should be controlled as it can decrease hyperinflation and reduce prices of commodities

People should be educated properly or get acquired a proper skill. It will help them become a resource for the country rather than a liability thus decreasing pressure on urban areas.

Rural areas should also be looked upon and should be properly developed with good transport, electricity etc.
