explain why asexual reproduction produces offspring that are identical to the originals, and sexual reproduction produces offspring that are unique from their originals.

because asexual is uniparental and no fertilization take place so there are characters of one parent in progeny but sexual reproduction is bi parental and both male and female gamete fuses so they are unique

because in sexual reproduction two mates are involved so the young one gets the characteristics of both of his parents while in asexual reproduction only one parent is involved due to which the young one receives only his characterstics and is identical to its parent.
