From the above picture we know that

  1. Hypotenuse - 10cm
  2. Base -6cm
  3. Perpendicular - x

By using Pythagoras theorem , we can find its perpendicular ie the height of the wall

H = P + B

10 cm² = + 6cm².

X² = 10cm² - 6cm²

= 100 cm - 36 cm

= 64 cm

= 8cm²

"²" will be cut , thus

X = 8 cm

the height of the ladder = 8 cm
